In Server 2003 when you find an error in the Event Log you can usually just click on the link and a search will be done in the MS support database. Most of the time the errors I search for can not be found. This morning I get a error message box saying

‘Windows cannot open Help and Support because a system service is not running.
To fix this problem, start the service named ‘Help and Support’.

So I opened up services and I so not see a service named ‘Help and Support’. Great another cryptic error message.
I did some searching and found great advice from people saying, ‘go to services and start the service’ Wow, thanks I would have never thought of that from looking at the error message!

I finally found a blog entry from the Small Business Server team and there seems to be a problem with Service Pack 2. I followed the fix they have and everything is good again in the land of M$.

This issue is currently under investigation, however if you are currently experiencing this issue you can run the following commands to resolve the issue:

1. Open a command prompt.
2. Navigate to %windir%\PCHealth\HelpCtr\Binaries
3. Run “start /w helpsvc /svchost netsvcs /regserver /install”
4. Once this command completes the Help and Support service should now appear in services.msc
5. Start the Help and Support service

I had a very frustrating trip to pick up Mona from the Ballantyne Cruise ship terminal in Vancouver.
There are no signs, and no indication on the websites on what to expect when you go to the terminal. When you go to the foot of McGill or Clark, there are security check point for the Port of Vancouver. No notice or sign anywhere saying this is the way to Ballantyne. Just a very daunting security check point with flashing lights and signs saying that a VPA Pass is required. There are no attendants, just a swipe area and a camera to look into. This seemed too much for picking someone up from a cruise ship.

I did a quick google search on my MotoQ and found a number to call. I do have to go through that check point, press the ‘Call Attendent’ button, state my business and hold up my ID. Why can they not have a sign or some indication on the website saying that you need to do this.

Well score one against network television for bowing down to sponsors and canceling this show after 3 episodes.

I finally watched the opening episode of The Book of Daniel, or should I say that my wife decided to watch it while I was on the laptop. I was sold that it was going to be a ‘Touched by an Angel’ type of show so I shied away from it. I like the realism of the characters and how the show is not about religion and being closer to God. It i a show about your faith, the faith in your family and the journey of your life. I can see why all the holier than thou stiff upper lipped Christians would be offended by the truth of what really goes on in life. I hope HBO or Showtime pick this up, it is the type of real life drama that they produce.

I also have to find out where I get some of those ‘Canadian Headache pills’.

Here is a good comment by Fr. Donald Matthews is the rector at Grace Episcopal Church in Elmira.

So I am updating my earlier iMix of Hip Tunes since ‘Yer Favourites’ was released on itunes. I get only 21 out of the 22, and I find that iTunes only has a partial album of ‘Day for Night’. They are missing ‘Emergency’ and ‘Titanic Terrarium’, what is up with that? I am sure they were there last week!
