Here is a good article over at Wired. Interview with Bram Cohen the creator of BitTorrent. There is some good stuff in there about how the model of TV broadcasting and viewing is changing.
My view is that the broadcasters should host torrents that link to TV shows. To download the torrent file you would first need to watch a commercial or something first. I wish the MPAA etc would quit fighting new technology with old ways. If they embrace it, they can create new models that will still leave them plenty of room for control, which is what they want more than the money. It is not about piracy and money, if it was then they could easily trace back these screener movies etc to the source and stop it there. It is all about control, and how they want to control what we hear and see! They want to make the decision for you, they want to control who goes to number one, not who deserves it.
