Today we had to make a difficult decision. A decision that everyone must face at sometime in life. A decision to say goodbye to a loved one, a friend and companion. We say Goodbye to a faithful companion Missy today, a 15 year old collie lab cross female dog. It comes a time to make a decision about quality of life for the dog and the owner. Euthanasia is not a easy decision, but you have to weight the alternatives to both the animal and your quality of life. We did not want Missy to suffer anymore than she has. Once she was full of life coming upstairs and being with the family, now she just sleeps by herself downstairs not wanting to do anything.

I enter this in my journal to be a standing record of Missy’s life with us. We did not make the decision for her to live with us, she did. We celebrate her life and all the wonderful memories she leaves us. We take that gift and store it in our hearts.

Today we do a beautiful thing and put the memory of Missy out there for all. We love you and hope that your continuing journey is rewarding.
